WHAT'S IN A NAME

What's in a name? Does it always match up to who you are or who you are going to be? Mine does. My name is the perfect name for me, I feel, because it is short, like me, easy to say which matches my easy going personality, and is sweet like all the chocolate I have consumed in my life. It is simple in the way it is spelled, not fancy like the french way but simple like me, a person who chooses to wear converse instead of heels. A person who wears black because it works with anything and who watches too much TV. Amy, a simple, short, sweet name that encompasses all that is me. My mom told me, one day, that she had planned to name me blaire. When I heard this I thought, would I be a different person if I had been Blaire? Blaire sounds fancy not simple. It sounds snobby not sweet, and in all honesty I wonder if a Blaire would be taller. But I am not Blaire, I am Amy, and in a way I think it is perfect. It fits me like my converse fit on my feet.
